An APP-PAPP 8 weeks training:
Three scientists from the Caribbean Agricultural Research Development Institute - CARDI (St-Vincent), the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (Jamaica) and Commonwealth (Dominica) will be visiting their Pacific counterparts at the SPC Land and Resources Division Centre to:
- learn briefly about the scope of the activities of the SPC Land Resources Division in line with agriculture development and facilitating trade and market access;
- learn on the different evaluation methods (tissue culture, screenhouse and breeding) for evaluating crops for tolerance to different climatic factors;
- learn from field visits and different project partners on areas that link to agriculture development in the Pacific through Fiji, and how that knowledge can contribute or adapt to suit agriculture development in the Caribbean region.
