‘Green farming technologies’ refer to both methods and materials which allow for alternative energy generation to non-toxic agricultural inputs and practices. Caribbean countries have independently pursued the development of these technologies, heavily tilted towards protected agriculture, with varying degrees of success.
The Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), Technical Leader of APP Component 2 (C2), in collaboration with the University of the West Indies (UWI), IICA and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Production, Fisheries, Cooperatives and Rural Development, Saint Lucia, will convene a regional forum on Green Intensive Farming Technologies in Saint Lucia during 8th-10th December, 2015. Key resource persons will come from the UWI, CARDI, Jamaica Greenhouse Association and the Regional Centre for Integrated Services in Protected Agriculture from Mexico.
Participation by pre-selection and registration only.
Limited funds are available to support participation. Details are available in the concept note. Interested persons are asked to email the contact persons below for a copy of the concept note and to indicate interest in participating.
